The Kenya Experience goes beyond classroom education, allowing young adults to seek solutions to real world issues, with a focus on service learning. Participants engage in projects that make a difference in both their local communities and remote villages in Kenya. In doing so, participants are able to form meaningful community connections as well as a deeper sense of understanding through these perspective changing experiences.  By combining safari adventure with high impact projects, students will engage in an international travel experience that will change their lives.

  • Day 1: Nairobi

    Students will be welcomed in Nairobi, and participate in a cultural orientation.

  • Day 2: Naivasha

    Students will have a fun-filled day including a boat ride and a local school visit.

  • Day 3: Nakuru

    Students will experience the exceptional culture and rare wildlife in the Nakuru area.

  • Day 4: Kisii

    Students visit the Kericho Tea Estates on their way to Kisii. Kisii is the access point to Nyanchonori Village.

  • Day 5: Nyanchonori

    Students will take a tour of the village and participate in village activities and projects.

  • Day 6: Nyanchonori

    Students will collaborate to complete a village community service project.

  • Day 7: Maasai Mara

    Students will journey to Maasai Mara, one of the most renowned safari destinations in all of Africa.

  • Day 8: Maasai Mara

    Students will take in the beauty of the vast landscape and exotic wildlife in the Maasai Mara on a full day safari.

  • Day 9: Coast

    Students will take a domestic flight from Maasai Mara to Mombasa to relax on the white sand beaches of the Indian Ocean.

  • Days 10 & 11: Coast

    Students will enjoy coastal activities and reflection sessions. The Haller Park Game Reserve will be visited, along with the Fort Jesus museum and historical site.

  • Day 12: Nairobi

    Students will depart Mombasa by air and arrive in Nairobi for an overnight stay.

  • Day 13: Departure

    Students will enjoy a day touring the city, followed by a group dinner and reflection session, prior to departure.

  • Students from any educational institution can participate in the Kenya Experience program! Reach out to us today to discuss the logistics.

  • Over 40 ethnic languages are spoken in Kenya, although the national language is Swahili. Most Kenyans also speak English, as it is the official language.

  • Various vaccines are recommended for individuals traveling to Kenya. Malaria prophylaxis may be recommended. We recommend that each individual consults with a health professional, such as a doctor at Passport Health at least three months prior to departure.

  • The Kenya Experience broadens student perspectives in a way that no other travel experience can. Our deep connections with Kenyan communities provide students with the unique opportunity to meet, engage with and make meaningful connections with Kenyan students, schools, and communities. Through experiencing diverse cultures in a truly authentic way, student participants come home with an enhanced and mature world view.
